Possibly counter-productive #GMTip #PCTip for my #TTRPG folks:

Think about what you want to do during the game and build characters who won't BYPASS that gameplay loop.

If you want to be an explorer, don't choose options that make exploration boring/easy. Don't optimize the fun out of the game!
