In new research, Joanna Syrda uses to #PSIDdata for 1999-2019 confirms that the "trophy wife" trope for heterosexual couples can be found in the data, in that at the time of marriage as the absolute income of the husband increases, the BMI of the wife decreases--and not vice versa. 🧵 (1/2)
