SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE ACTION
A STATEMENT FROM NEWCASTLE GREEN PARTY
The UK Government's declaration that it seeks to ban Palestine Action is an indictment of its complicity with the genocide unfolding in Palestine.
Let's be absolutely clear. Palestine Action is not being banned for putting red paint on two jets (one of which operated over Gaza) and leaving them fully operational.
The UK Government has been waiting for an opportunity to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation. The direct action against RAF Brize Norton was simply an opportunity the Government felt it could capitalise on without too much public outrage.
Why does the Government want to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation?
Over the past year Palestine Action has won. It has shut down factories, ended companies' complicity, and garnered wide public support. All of this while the UK Government flies surveillance planes over Gaza for the IDF, trains IDF soldiers in the UK, and continues relations with Israeli officials charged with war crimes.
The UK Government is not neutral, it is actively complicit in the unfolding genocide. It has succumbed to the pressures of Israeli lobbying and stood steadfast by Israel's side as it continuously breaches international law.Why does the Government want to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation?

Actions like those of Palestine Action activists have occurred throughout history. It is only due to the brave actions of ordinary people taking similar actions to those of Palestine Action that we have the women's rights, workers' rights, and people's rights we do.
This is not the first time the RAF have been targeted. In 2003 anti-war activists broke into RAF Fairford to stop US bombers heading to Iraq.
Keir Starmer himself defended these actions, declaring they were justified to prevent war crimes being committed. Yet his Government is banning an organisation doing the same.

Our country is run by hypocrites too weak to stand for humanity.
The Government will seek to imprison its own people, while shaking hands with officials who command the killing of babies.
