Assuming it’s not something easily broken, Dahlia could toss it in a storm drain or on a roof and retrieve it later with telekinesis.

If safe to do so, or for lack of a better option, Moonlighter can use the, erm… prison wallet.

If it’s sturdy enough not to dissolve in strong acid and unlikely to scar her intestines, Sameko could swallow it.

If it’s some kind of data container, DJ can download its contents onto themself and then destroy it.

Any member of the team can hand it off to Plain Jane and have her walk right past the authorities with it in her hand.

Mr. Q can teleport it to any unobserved point on Earth just by putting it in his pocket or behind his back.

All of the main cast of Vol. 1 would be found guilty of vigilantism per the Paragons Act of 1984, which requires superheroes to register with the Bureau of Metahuman Affairs.

Additionally, the Word and Dahlia would each be found guilty of multiple counts of criminal assault against law enforcement. The Word would also be found guilty of escaping prison.

Moonlighter would be found guilty of 17 counts of first-degree murder if he weren’t pardoned in 1983. He would still be found guilty of criminal assault against law enforcement and escaping prison.

Sameko would be charged with one murder, but a decent lawyer could probably get her off as it was a defense of others situation.

Mr. Q’s crimes are difficult to tabulate, from trespassing, B&E, criminal assault against law enforcement, oh so many murders, and a prison escape.

Arcane can sense souls, so he can hold his own in a fight, but still has to navigate around physical obstacles as a blind person would.

The Hood has dissociative identity disorder, and the trigger for his alter (who has enhanced hearing and smell) taking control is being blinded. If he ever became totally blind, he would simply be the Hood full-time.

InvisiBelle is blind when using her powers, so she could eventually adapt to full blindness.

DJ “sees” by sensing radio waves. They don’t have eyes or normal vision.

As for the sighted:
The Word would probably have the second hardest time. His power requires him to write, and his combat training is no help if he can’t see.

Black Dahlia would have it rough, but she has a pretty big support network (her family), plus a sighted ghost grandfather who is always by her side, so she does okay.

Moonlighter has trained to fight while blinded and navigate using his other senses alone. Get him in a workshop and he’ll probably start building some kind of artificial replacement for his eyesight.

Sameko has very good smell and can sense electrical currents (including those in the human body). She does just fine without sight.

Plain Jane would have a much harder time than the Word, because she’s already suffering from a power that obscures her presence from other people. If she has to rely on other people to help her navigate, she’s screwed.

Mr. Q has had similar training to Moonlighter, and as an added bonus, a side effect of his power is he can tell when anyone is able to see him.

#Paragons has a few characters who are already blind.

#Paragons has fated connections. It’s revealed that Roentgen the X-Ray Cat can see them in one of the spin-offs. But I would probably call this more of a nonspecific form of precognition, not “soulmates”, since Roentgen’s fate sense doesn’t distinguish between future lovers and future enemies.

The Word doesn’t kill. In fact, he talks down Moonlighter from killing Jack Flash and breaking his vow.

Black Dahlia kills some members of the Road Kings who start trying to kill the Paragons as they drive from Florida back up to New York.

Moonlighter has killed dozens of people from 1969 until 1976, when he met the woman he’d marry and vowed to change for her sake.

Sameko’s origin story has her killing the crew of a fishing boat in self-defense. In her debut chapter, she kills Agent E to save his would-be victim.

DJ is a strict pacifist. After witnessing their fellow prototype malfunction and kill innocent people, they cannot bring themselves to do any harm to anyone.

Plain Jane has never killed, but because of how useful her powers are, Brainstorm hijacks her body so the Ultras can attempt to frame the Paragons for killing the president.

Mr. Q massacres the Department of Temporal Corrections’ most successful kill-squad when they attempt to apprehend him in a diner.

Not quite a candy, but it’s a plot point in #Paragons that agents of the Department of Temporal Corrections all share a taste for strawberry milk (worry not, the DTC conditioning that turns recruits into agents eliminates any lactose intolerance or strawberry allergies).

DTC Agents E and R are frequently seen smoking cigarettes, but their teeth are usually pearly white. This is due to a combination of the DTC doing all their dentistry in-house to avoid their agents being identified via dental records and the fact that E and R die and get cloned so often that their teeth never get the chance to stain.

Young wannabe hero Vendetta can regrow his adult teeth (a process that takes roughly a week). This is his only “superpower”.

In the world of #Paragons, I have a few characters with interesting answers to this.

The Word’s powers require him to write. If he can’t see, he can’t use them, so bright light.

Moonlighter and Mr. Q prefer low light for tactical reasons. Moonlighter’s dark costume provides better camo in the dark, and Mr. Q can more reliably teleport when it’s too dark to see him.

Moonlighter’s suit is two layers: Lightweight titanium plates over kevlar-padded carbon fiber; and a kevlar under-armor layer with shock-absorbing gel pockets in the areas where impacts are most expected.

The Word and Plain Jane’s suits are based on the same tech as Moonlighter’s.

Black Dahlia and Sameko don’t need it. Dahlia can come back from the dead and Sameko’s skin is highly resistant to gunfire.

DJ’s body has built-in armor (at least after they join the team and get upgraded).

After surviving an attack by a DTC kill-squad, Mr. Q takes the body armor off one of the dead agents and starts wearing it under his trench coat.

All of the #Paragons (at least the Vol. 1 cast) were at one point fugitives from the Bureau of Metahuman Affairs. The CIA killed Moonlighter’s parents. He and 2 others were sent to a Gitmoesque prison at Point Nemo.

It’s safe to say they’ve got trust issues when it comes to authority.

The Word would script an elaborate heist involving a foreign diplomat and an envelope mixup that leaves him walking away with millions in diamonds.

Black Dahlia would telekinetically rip a hole in the back wall of the vault and fill up bags with cash.

Moonlighter would hack the bank’s servers and transfer money to offshore accounts he owns.

Sameko would sit this one out. She’s a brute-force type and her appearance is too distinctive.

DJ would broadcast hypnotic suggestions to a bank teller and customer while they sleep. In the morning, the customer enters the bank, the teller gives them a big bag of money, and they carry it outside and drop it off where DJ collects it.

Plain Jane walks right into the vault during normal business hours, scoops cash into some bags and walks out while everyone ignores her.

Mr. Q teleports into the vault after hours and takes whatever he needs. He can even take as many trips as he wants.

Well, if the BMA had to imprison them and had an understanding of all their powers, they’d probably read like this:

1 0 0 0

Other than the members who are asexual (Bombshell, Sergei), have mouths that would be a safety hazard (Sameko), or have no mouths at all (DJ), I think all of the #Paragons would go down on their partners.

And those who have genitals and aren’t asexual would likely be happy to receive.

Mr. Q takes his with strawberry milk specifically.

Charlie’s 25 and not really much of a ladies’ man, so probably just one or two.

Dahlia’s 17. She hasn’t had any, though she did make out with a guy once. Didn’t go anywhere.

Sameko is 20. She is also a virgin.

Voss is 55 and has had over a dozen partners, mostly one-time flings. He hasn’t had a committed relationship since 1983, 21 years before the start of Vol. 1.

DJ was built in 1964, making them 40. They weren’t built for that kind of activity, and their only friends for 40 years have been sewer rats, so I’m gonna say zero.

Jane is 29, and her powers have made it kind of tricky to have a love life. No partners.

I can’t answer this for Mr. Q because frankly he can’t answer it for himself.

NOTE: I promise I didn’t make all the women virgins on purpose. Dahlia’s a Catholic minor, Sameko is a sheltered hybrid, and Jane’s power is uncontrollable imperceptibility.

Dahlia’s aura is violet, like her grandfather’s. For her, it symbolizes her relationship with death; for him, the dark magic he used to empower himself beyond his human limits.

Those empowered by the Astralith—such as Sentinel (of the original Paragons), Ad Astra I (of the Meteor Men), and Ad Astra II (of the New Paragons) have a golden aura, representative of the stone’s power. Uniquely, Sentinel was able to focus the power of the Astralith through sheer willpower to such a degree that he could create solid constructs out of its energy, which also changed the color from gold to green. Minuteman is empowered by a small fragment of the Astralith embedded in his chest. Due to the lesser power of this fragment, his golden aura isn’t as bright as those who use the actual stone.

Carriers of the Curse of Morrigan (notably Red Hood of the New Ultras) have a red aura when using their powers, symbolizing the blood of their enemies and their own fated violent deaths.

Sameko has a hard time forgiving her biological father for siring her in the first place. (She was the result of a drunken union between Ocean Man and a blue shark, was forced to fend for herself as a child, and then was nearly killed by the crew of a whaling ship.)

Sameko was imprisoned by Moonlighter as part of her backstory. Being a feral child that had already killed people, he deemed her too dangerous to release, so he adopted her. By kidnapping and subsequently re-training her.

Dahlia was kidnapped—along with her best friend—by a murderer with the ability to silence any sound. She manages to get herself and her friend away.

Dahlia was kidnapped a second time by the Brotherhood of Eternity, who intended to marry her to the concept of Death and then sacrifice her to achieve global immortality.

All three of the boys from the Vol. 1 team end up in a metahuman detention facility (Mr. Q meets the Word and Moonlighter after they’re arrested, and only joins the team a while after the jailbreak.

DJ ends up a prisoner of Maximilian Midas (the grandson of the man who designed him) in Vol. 2.

I haven’t actually thought of an in-universe answer to why Charlie Sinclair’s hero name is “The Word,” other than his powers being based on his writing.

Dahlia Martinez’s hero name came from two of her classmates calling her “Black Dahlia,” like the murder victim, because her pale skin makes her “look like death.” So she sort of embraces that and makes it her own.

Moonlighter was assigned his alias by the press in 1969, during the time when he was hunting down and murdering the people involved in the conspiracy that killed his parents. The press called him the Moonlighter Killer because his first victim was discovered on the day Apollo 11 landed on the moon and since then, every victim had been found displayed “under the moonlight.”

Sameko doesn’t have a different hero name, but the name her adopted father gave her being a Japanese one comes from him finding her in the Sea of Japan. The name itself translates to “shark [same] child [ko].”

DJ’s nickname is part of their serial number, and Dahlia picked it for them because their head is a radio.

Plain Jane is another one without an actual in-universe reason beyond it being a reference to Jane Smith’s powers.

Mr. Q picks his name while watching a soap opera called “The Nuke-Lear Family.” When a character named Mr. X is mentioned, it triggers a memory about someone calling him “Q,” so he decides to go by “Mr. Q.”

Dahlia’s imaginary friend was the ghost of a child who didn’t know she was dead and just thought everyone was ignoring her. Dahlia witnessed her being consumed by the Forget-Me-Nauts, but because the FMNs are memory-proof, she immediately forgot about the event until adulthood, when she next saw the FMNs.

Nocturne has an imaginary mentor. Frequently beaten by his father, he imagined Moonlighter saved him and trained him as his teen sidekick Kid-Night. In actuality, he trained himself and murdered his father. He still sees Moonlighter when he’s off his meds.

Well… I hadn’t thought of that…

But Mr. Q does now.

Gonna have him just be watching an episode of The Nuke-Lear Family* and hear about an as-of-yet character called Mr. X and have it trigger a flashback and that’s where he gets his hero name (Mr. Q) from.

*A fictional soap opera about Nelson Nuke (secretly the superhero Mr. Atomic), his wife (a reporter and daughter of Mr. Atomic’s archnemesis Dr. Lear), and their kids, a son who takes after his father and a daughter who takes after her maternal grandfather.

The Word: “No. Real life isn’t some comic book that’s already been written and can’t be changed.”

Dahlia: “God gave us free will for a reason. To Him, everything is predetermined, but we still have to make up our minds.”

Moonlighter: “Everything that happens is the culmination of prior occurrences. Our job is to be a disruptor when the outcome looks unfavorable.”

Sameko: “We make our own fate.”

DJ: “I wasn’t programmed to become sentient, but I did. If someone planned all of this out, how can we know for certain they accounted for every variable?”

Plain Jane: “Doesn’t matter. Either we’re all puppets or we have free will. Might as well act like what we choose to do matters. The alternative’s too depressing.”

Mr. Q: [declines to answer, knows too much]

Thomas Voss took his son Adam (Moonlighter) on a couple of hunting trips, when he was 15 and 16. Adam hasn’t been hunting since his father died, but he still knows how.

Sameko is a born hunter.

In theory, Mr. Q’s assassin skills, trained by the DTC, could transfer to hunting game.

Dahlia almost gets herself and her best friend killed trying to get evidence from a murderer’s apartment. The reveal of her powers destroys their friendship.

Voss (Moonlighter) loses his parents at 16 and his wife and stepson over a decade later.

Plain Jane’s powers activated as a result of the trauma of witnessing her brother’s abduction, causing her to be basically invisible to the world and forcing her to survive on her own from an early age.

DJ was one of two prototype defense robots shown at the 1964 Empire City World’s Fair, which ended in tragedy when the other prototype malfunctioned and killed several attendees. DJ, being part of the same product line, was sent to be decommissioned and fled into the sewers of Empire City, where they stayed for four decades.

Dahlia may have to fight a bitch.

Voss (Moonlighter) strikes me as the type to see it coming, let it happen, and calmly clean himself up.

Mr. Q would completely no-sell it. The drink doesn’t make it past the void in front of his face if he doesn’t want it to anyway.

Roentgen would hiss, boil off the drink, and then irradiate you, and you would deserve it for throwing your drink at a cat, you monster.
