🌋#RangerTip: the next eruption of #KīlaueaVolcano is forecast by USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory btwn Nov. 21 & 25. Make the Welcome Center your first stop! Excellent views of the eruption & the entire caldera are visible a short walk away The ballfield offers plenty of parking!

🚙After you enter the park & go through the groovy new roundabout, stay on Crater Rim Dr. West & follow the signs to park at the ballfield. The Welcome Center is open daily 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Guided hikes & programs depart from the Welcome Center so be sure to check the sign board. #HVNP #ParkUpdate

🔧 HELCO’s Line Relocation & Replacement Project continues with hole drilling & power pole replacements along Hwy. 11 in HVNP park.
⚡ Project will improve electricity reliability island-wide
🏗️ Some sections date back to 1950s

Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site is now reopened.
Their coastal areas did not experience any significant damage during the overnight tsunami warning.
Park staff do advise using general caution during your visit, especially along the coast and at Pelekane Bay.

🚨 Park Update from Our Partner #HaleakalāNationalPark 🚨
Haleakalā National Park remains closed through at least the morning of February 1, due to severe weather impacts—including heavy rain, flooding, and high winds. 🌧️💨
Reopening will depend on conditions and damage assessments.

Chain of Craters Road is closed to all use due to heightened volcanic activity and gas emissions along the Middle ERZ of Kīlauea. The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory has raised the alert level to ORANGE.

This fall, Kīlauea Visitor Center (KVC), the HPPA park store, restrooms & most adjacent parking will close for construction. 🪚 Park programs will temp be suspended once KVC closes. The park store will be temporarily relocated & other provisions will be made for visitors.
