It's the Monday morning after #perfnow so it's time to add Speculation Rules to my product sites, let's squeeze out that extra bit of performance!
I added the <script>, opened the dev tools network tab, hovered over some links, unchecked "Disable cache" just to be sure, aaaaaand nothing happened. 🤔
One bonus of attending #perfnow in Amsterdam - the city's so nice to walk in, I've increased my daily steps to double the usual.
Also had a great time in the conf, the talks and the people were amazing
I know everyone has been avidly following my progress home from #PerfNow </self-deprecating sarcasm> so I’m happy to say that after 29.5 hours in airports and planes, only 2 more hours till I arrive home! 🎉 🎉 🎉
And yes, if you’re wondering, the long haul in both directions is totally worth it!
I'm not sure how I feel about this part of Etsy's results: "About 1 in 14 prefetch requests was navigated to by the user."
The performance improvements are superb, but a 7% hit rate doesn't sound great for server usage and bandwidth. What do you think, #PerfNow? What's the right balance?

This marks my fifth year attending my favorite conference, #perfnow in Amsterdam. Again, I leave super-charged from the inspiring talks, nerdy chats and unforgettably fun times. The perf community is just so amazing!

Another year of #PerfNow is done! My poor wee brain is full, but I've got so many practical takeaways to research and try. I've caught up with familiar faces, spoken to the very approachable 'big names' in the #webperf community, and met so many people for the first time. Can't wait to do it again.
