Speaking of bluebirds, this is a favorite #WorstBirdPic of mine for #PhotoFailFriday. A truly unfortunate #StickHappens moment! ๐

eastern bluebird perched on the side of a tree, face obscured by the tree and shadows.
blurry eastern bluebird flying away from a tree in the winter woods.

the bluebirds at the park wanted to make sure I had plenty of material for #PhotoFailFriday #birds
In case you didn't believe me about there being a bird. And a fish! Here are all 10 pixels!

A tangle of bare branches covering the whole photo. In the center, if you look very, very carefully is a tiny blue and white bird.
It's #PhotoFailFriday and I bring you this epically terrible Belted Kingfisher photo. A classic perpetrator of the #WorstBirdPic. No really, there is a bird in there. I swear. And it has a fish in it's mouth!
Why on earth did I take this photo? I have no idea

The tail end of a bird is always a classic. ๐ ๐ชถ
A large white bird is very blurry as it flies away from the camera. A bare tree trunk is in focus in the foreground.
Itโs #PhotoFailFriday! Bring out your best worst shots!
Luckily I got a bunch of good shots of this Great Egret before it took off and left my camera focused on the trees.

an out of focus yellow rumped warbler face, with a berry in its beak, just visible through an opening in a cedar tree.
Spud, our local leucistic goldfinch. They are not albino but they don't have the darker pigment, so they are essentially the same colour as a boiled potato. Spud is looking slightly to the left of camera as if to say: "Even when I sit still you can't take a decent photo of me!"
A dull fail today, rather than a spectacular one, for #PhotoFailFriday
Here is Spud, the boiled-potato of a bird who I will, one day, get in focus. But not today.

Image of a hawkโs gray, black, and white tail and talons taken as the hawk flew out of frame.
My #PhotoFailFriday, some sort of hawk (Cooperโs, I think).
Itโs the Northern Cardinal edition of #PhotoFailFriday!

The chest and feet of a house finch are seen on a shepherds hook, but the head is not in the photo. His chest is reddish over streaky brown.
This #PhotoFailFriday is all on the photographer. The House Finch wasn't even moving. ๐ชถ
But it's perfect for #PhotoFailFriday which is a lovely tradition ๐

Let's start off the new year with some photo fails for
#PhotoFailFriday!
The missing head belongs to a Tufted Titmouse. It was standing right there! They move fast! ๐ชถ

Three of my best "fails"
Pileated woodpecker... Yellow Warbler and Marsh Wren

Rear view of songbird with yellow-white head and black body perched on wire fenceline at edge of hay field. Large barn, trees and mountains are in the background.
Going by my eBird checklist for that day, it's a bobolink.

My #PhotoFailFriday is try to get the Sulphur Crested Cockatoos feeding on my Star Fruit tree. They love it but they've never been so skitty. Have been able to get a decent shot.
The view from my deskโI looked up and saw a cardinal, but not soon enough . . .

#photoFailFriday ? I don' think there are enough hours in a Friday every year for me to capture all the fails.
here is one from September when we were visiting the Grand Tetons national park.
an American dipper
Not my #worstbirdpic since there is actually bird in the pic lmao, but def a #photofailfriday contender. Sooooo close little junco, so close

A bird feeder hosting three out of focus American goldfinches in their winter plumage. One sits on a perch, one stands on the edge of the tray and the third is an indistict pale blob on the left. The pale one is leucistic: it lacks the black pigment, so the normally dark feathers are creamy.
Yes! Letโs definitely start off the new year with some photo fails for #PhotoFailFriday
This is a leucistic American goldfinch and not a boiled potato falling off the bird feeder, honest!

Low light plus bird approaching light speed equals #blurd ๐คทโโ๏ธ
A Cooperโs hawk, honest ๐
