Yes, absolutely. You cannot understand current genAI, not only Slop, outside of platform capitalism: digital platforms are the main infrastructural condition both for the training and testing of the models as well as for the production and distribution of its output #PlatformRealism
This is only consequential: #AIslop is a product of social media platforms, their extractivist business models, recommendation logics, filter aesthetics, reaction economies & meme politics. Social media is both a key resource for AI to exploit and the environment it's optimized for

Unlike 20th century propaganda, #platformrealism is not an aesthetic of seduction, but of brutal carelessness and blatant ignorance. The power of a video like this lies in the sloppiness of its means - anyone could produce it, without expertise, without investment, without even watching it
