Book vs. Movie: “Kiss of the Spider Woman” When I was growing up, my family would watch the Tony Awards every year because we love ourselves some musicals. My first exposure to Kiss of the Spider Woman was not through Mauel Puig's 1976 novel originally published by Seix Barral, but through the 1992 musical by John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Terrence McNally. I didn't even know about the Héctor Babenco-directed film that came out in 1985.

Book vs. Movie vs. Musical! We're looking at "Kiss of the Spider Woman" in three different media today...come along for the ride!
