Schema showing the role of cell integrity in drought response. Some stresses like drought cause cell wall damage. The interaction between the plasma membrane and the cell wall in these situations activates stress responses. Our research demonstrates that the receptor THESEUS1 regulates these responses. By manipulating this system, we could generate stress resistant plants.

During my postdoc, I studied plant cell wall integrity, focusing on mechanoperception and its relation to abiotic stress. Understanding how plants perceive and respond to physical changes is crucial for improving stress tolerance. 🌱💪 #PlantScience #PostdocResearch #StressBiology
