Predicate w języku Java. Predykat jako parametr metody "Predicate" w języku Java pozwoli Ci na zdefiniowanie miejsca na wyrażenie logiczne dla wartości danego typu w postaci parametru metody!

‪Java supports the "Predicate" functional interface for defining a boolean expression as a parameter of a method 🚀!

By using this, you can define criteria per method call 🔥!

Yeah, there's even some nice #Predicate enhancements from last year, but all iOS 18+ only

Woof - implementing the generic App Entity queries for SwiftData entities really highlights all of the shortcomings of the #Predicate macro. This is soooooo much harder than it should be.

I learned a lot about #Expression macro for #SwiftData the last days, but why can a Predicate not contain only a single expression?

#Predicate { record in
checkAccount.evaluate(record, account)
}

#Predicate { record in
checkAccount.evaluate(record, account) && true
}

trying to write a #SwiftData #Predicate on a many to many relationship in a iCloud-backed Schema and it seems impossible.

to be iCloud-backed, the relationships must be optional, but getting the compiler to recognize unwrapping of the optional array seems to never work.

Anyone ever done it?

you need to initialize Query in the init of the view
init(mood: Mood) {
_query = Query(filter: #Predicate…)
}

5/ If you need a FetchDescriptor with a predicate that filters based on another @.Model, you can't use the model directly.
You need to rely on something that uniquely identifies your record (and capture that value outside the #Predicate)

The iOS Simulator displays a list titled Users, showing names Ed Sheeran, Johnny English, Rosa Diaz, and Roy Kent. Each name is in a row with a right-facing arrow, and a plus icon is at the top right for adding users.

Starting a new project for Day 57, so don’t have much to show so far. We’re learning how to edit SwiftData objects with SwiftUI and filter data using #Predicate. #100DaysOfSwiftUI
