Where are Europe’s last primary forests? The first map of Europe’s last primary forests, including more than 1.4 million hectares in 34 European countries has now been published.

Would be cool to have regular updates on distribution and status... more frequently than every 5 yrs like the FAO FRAs (global forest resources assessment).

Proud of the #Madagascar civil society at #COP29 that defended #PrimaryForests from 2 new roads! In the #PressConference, 59 NGOs detailed the threats to ecosystems, water, agriculture, hydro energy, tourism. #IMF is providing a $321 million #ClimateResilience loan, expected to fund these roads.
