So I could tell love you with big black and white squared, tiled flow and comfortable looking old old style red fabric chairs, + a big ceramic to the left in a rock garden sort of area next to a window.
One side of the room with a long desk along a wall with the TV on the wall. 2 oz in a small circular table on the carpeted area between the desk and the side of a bed which is visible to the left. A tall lamp with a circular lamp, shade and ceiling to floor drapes are on the far wall
Looking out the window to the roof that's one floor below and covered with many likely air conditioner cooling fan units and buildings beyond
Holding up a three-prong plug in my hand, two 2-pin outlets are visible. A computer charger and the edge of a computer are in frame
Well it's a swank hotel and huge room they've put me up in! Not the greatest view but all the better to get my talk ready. I have an hour before I have to meet the organizers and some of the other invited speakers to go to dinner.

Just started this book. As an academic that went to grad school, the premise is wild. As a Grad student, I don't think I'd go to these lengths for a Letter of Rec. It’s a new year and I begin teaching after sabbatical next week. Three syllabi about 90% completed. I helped a mentee with a teaching assignment. And I was hosted by my fave corgi while in the office. #proflife begins in three days. I think I got this.

Any other proffies out there given up on the Canvas gradebook? They have made it virtually impossible to manage optional extra credit, which I know is a super rare and exotic thing in education 🙄, but has to be at least as common as teachers who don’t want “AI assistants” in their courses #proflife
