Farewell Scarlett and Gru, two-time world record holder for the longest read. Both desktop PCs have been servicing our #MinION sequencers since 2014. They are now being repurposed/transfered to make room for Nefario, our new #PromethION.
It will be cheaper to re-sequence a genome with #PromethION than to store the data on DNAnexus for 12 months, or on Amazon Glacier for 8 years. (1/2) #bigdata #genomics #nanopore #cloud
