Good news re the #ProtectScotland app! 🎉 Seems like an update was released 2 days ago --- it fixed the issue for me, with updates happening every 3.5 hours now. Hopefully it works for everyone 🤞

Five days ago I wrote about a potential problem with the #ProtectScotland Android app: it does not seem to sync with the COVID database unless users explicitly open it. The result: potentially many users may be unaware they have been exposed to COVID...

Update on the #ProtectScotland COVID app situation: #TestandProtect got back to me: they are investigating if there is a significant raise in reported bugs since the last update and are performing additional checks. Thank you all for helping me raise this!

TLDR: The #ProtectScotland app might not be working on Android as intended. Please comment when is the last time you Android has checked for exposure. @scotgovhealth, @NicolaSturgeon, please fix this!

Starting the #ProtectScotland app seems to force a database sync. Keeping it minimised also seems to allow for syncs. However, the app is supposed to work in the background, even when closed (not just minimised), and I have always closed my app before 10 Dec, without issues. 4/

I had bit of a glitch with the #ProtectScotland #TestAndTrace #CoronaVirus app after its update today.
Tried everything but all worked find once I removed the app and reinstalled it.
Now youngsters over the age of 11 can use it too
