The Public Utility Commission of Texas Launches Application Period for Texas Energy Fund Outside ERCOT Grant Program
AUSTIN — The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) has initiated the application period for the Texas Energy Fund (TEF) Outside ERCOT Grant Program, effective Wednesday.
This program offers financial assistance specifically for transmission, distribution, and electric generation projects located in Texas areas beyond the ERCOT power region. Eligible projects should focus on infrastructure upgrades, weatherization improvements, enhanced reliability, increased resilience, or effective vegetation management.
To apply, candidates need to submit an application through the TEF Portal and also provide a separate submission statement via the PUCT Interchange, referencing Project No. 57830.

The Outside ERCOT Grant Program is one component of the broader Powering Texas Forward Act, which was established through a statewide vote on November 7, 2023. The TEF itself offers a combination of grants and loans intended to support the development, upkeep, modernization, and ongoing operation of electric infrastructure both within and outside the ERCOT power region.
