I couldn't sleep, so I drew a weird scifi teeth-woman.

I have no idea what I should be tagging this. So I'm kind throwing tags at the wall to see what sticks.

A vintage science fiction magazine cover fills the frame, rendered in bold, saturated colors and dramatic illustration. At the center stands a lone astronaut figure in a sleek, form-fitting space suit, positioned on a curved metal platform or orbital structure. The astronaut’s stance is upright and confident, one arm slightly bent as if bracing against the structure, the other relaxed, suggesting calm control rather than urgency. The helmet is rounded and reflective, framing the figure’s face as they look outward into space. Behind them, a vast star-filled backdrop stretches across deep blues and blacks, punctuated by glowing celestial points. To the right, a large cylindrical spacecraft or orbital device moves diagonally through the composition, trailing bright energy or exhaust that creates a sense of motion and technological power. The title text “Astounding Science Fiction” arches boldly across the top in thick, stylized lettering, its warm yellows and reds contrasting sharply with the cool cosmic background. Smaller text near the bottom hints at a specific story or scientific event, reinforcing the serialized, speculative nature of the era. The overall image conveys optimism, exploration, and a belief in human progress, capturing a time when the future felt bold, mechanical, and unquestionably attainable.

Comic book page modeled after those vehicle cross-sections from Star Wars guides. It's a bullet-shaped grey metal ship with three circular portholes on each side. We see the inside, with three levels. We see a control deck, a living area, an engine room, landing gear with treaded wheels, etc.

The Cosmos

The fourth iteration of the ship belonging to the mysterious French scientist Doctor Oméga and used throughout the mid-to-late 1930s. The original ship was built in 1906 for an exploratory voyage to the planet Mars, where it was destroyed and rebuilt for a return trip. The second Cosmos was used throughout the 1920s and early 30s, until the Doctor, hired by France's Committee for Information and Defence (C.I.D.) by Léo Saint-Clair, AKA The Nyctalope, decommissioned it and built its successor. The Mark IV was designed on similar principles, but larger and more robust – more useful for transporting a team and being utilized for constant adventuring. He retained this ship after leaving the team in 1935 over irreconcilable differences with Saint-Clair.

There are lines pointing to aspects of the interior with technical specs, including, "Outer shell made of Repulsite, a metal invented by Doctor Oméga that repulses matter, energy, and space itself. Due to the Doctor's belief in the sanctity of sapient life, the Cosmos is unarmed. However, it is far from defenceless, as the Repulsite casing makes it impervious to most damage."

"Inner layer of Stellite, another invention of the Doctor's (and one conflated with and used interchangeably with Repulsite in his early biographies) that shields against the harmful cosmic rays encountered in space."

"Via a combination of materials and forces employed, the Cosmos is capable of rapid acceleration – reaching speeds for 800 km per second and more in the aether of space"

Retro newspaper strip-style comic book page. In a circular panel, the purple-skinned man talks against a yellow background. Below, on the left of the page, a green frog-like man in a purple costume slouches on a throne. He is surrounded by three females of his own species who are blue, red, and green. On the right side of the page, characters approach a sci fi city on wolf/horse creatures. An image appears in the sky of a redheaded man in a pulp sci fi outfit, with a Chinese woman holding him tight. Behind them, an old Chinese man fiddles with a device of some sort.

Text runs through the middle of the page, saying:

The purple-skinned man explains that he is Colonel Storun of the Imperial army of the Vallant Kingdom.

He is no stranger to Earthmen, since three humans –

the American athelete Blaze Banyan, the Chinese scientist Dr. Mingze Kwong and his daughter, the Chinese-American college student Morgan Kwong -

have served for years by his side in this world's resistance against the expanding military dictatorship of Rabazar the Ruthless, Emperor of the Amphibimen.

The Amphibimen have long ruled over the swampland that wraps around Clarion's equator, but the evil Rabazar has begun a war of conquest both northward and southward, with the ultimate goal of ruling the entire world.

The two most powerful nations opposing him, the Vallant Kingdom and Darr, are on opposite sides of the planet – in the northern and southern hemispheres, respectively.

The area Khalfani and Satin Jim have found themselves in is a key battleground in this war, as it represents one of the few breaks in the equatorial blockades. It allows supply lines between these two countries and elsewhere.

Retro style comic strip page.

The top half is laid out in an art deco inspired way and features Richard Clayton Cold in a hammock being visited by the white glowing astral projection of Moonchild.

Captions: The night, Cold is awakened by a glowing apparition appearing before him! It is Moonchild again! To Cold's relief, Grey skips here customary shameless flirting and gets straight to the point. Khalfani and a companion have been captured in Clarion's northers hemisphere in the disputed borderlands between the Forest of Verdissia and the equatorial swamps of the Amphibimen! She assured Cold the Apex Society will pay a sizable reward if Cold can get them safely out and back to Earth. Cold, cleaned out by his rocket pack's repairs, needs the money. He reluctantly agrees.

The bottom half is laid out with borders with a green floral pattern.

Panel 4: A lot of inmates in the prison camp have conversations. These include upright green rabbit-creatures, spider-like humanoids, blue cyclopes, and others.

Caption: Meanwhile, back at the camp, word has gotten around that a shining-white woman appeared to these strange, babbling prisoners.

Panel 5: A purple-skinned man with pointed ears and a 18th century style military uniform approach Khalfani and Satin JIm.

Caption: A purple man approaches Khalfani and Satin Jim and introduces himself...

Panel 6: Satin Jim and Khalfani are shocked.

Caption: ...In perfect English!

Comic book page with an art deco style layout.

Panel 1: Cold, Brown, and Doctor Omega walk away from their spaceship in a desert.

Caption: Also on Counter-Earth at this time is space mercenary Richard Clayton Cold, a former member of the Apex Society! He has been travelling of late with the inventor Doctor Omega and Cold's oldest friend, the troubled smuggler known as Southland Brown.

Panel 2: A shot of a futuristic domed city with the spaceship in the foreground.

Panel 3: Cold haggles with a bald engineer. Doctor Omega looks at some robot workers int he background.

Caption: Cold has come to Counter-Earth to get repairs on his rocket pack, built in the scientifically-advanced city of Darr. Repairs which a disreputable Darran engineer agreed to for a large fee.

Panel 4: The Doctor examines one of the robots.

Caption: The Doctor, as always, came to enjoy the sights and sounds of a new place...

Panel 5: Southland Brown smiles at two passing bald women in retro-futuristic attire.

Caption: While Southland was intrigued by the seemingly aloof and definitely hairless women of this city.

Panel 6: The walk away from him and he's left scratching his head.

Caption: Until he learned their coolness towards him was not an act of “hard-to-get” coquetry, but a reflection of the fact that the reproductive act here is strictly regulated based on “genetic fitness,” Something which Brown, much to his surprise, does not possess.
