Here's the thing you gotta understand about statistics.

"Increases your chances by 80%" does not mean "there is now an 80% chance".

If your chances were previously 10%, your chances are now 18%, not 90% [or 80%].

If your chances were roughly 1%, they are now just slightly less than 2%.

That's how it works.

Two tree trunks are shown in the image, with many leafy branches in the background. At some point, a branch from the trunk on the right became absorbed by ("grafted to"?) the trunk on the left.

Around the attachment site, the bark on the left-hand trunk has become folded in on itself. It has the strong appearance of a mouth whose lips are wrapped around the other tree's branch (which enters the "mouth" at an erect angle); the lips appear to be grinning.
