Maple Creek Energy Launches Request for Proposals for New CCGT Energy Project in US
Maple Creek Energy, collaborating with Advanced Power, has launched a request for proposals (RFP) to identify partners for a new combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) energy project in the United States. The initiative, announced July 8, 2025, aims to secure funding and establish long-term agreements to support the facility’s development and operational phases. This CCGT plant will utilize natural gas for electricity generation while also recovering waste heat to maximize efficiency, representing a significant advancement in power generation technology.
The project leverages the expertise of several leading companies. Maple Creek Energy is spearheading the RFP process, with Advanced Power contributing its extensive experience in power infrastructure development and ownership, boasting a portfolio of 6 GW of thermal and renewable generation assets and a development pipeline exceeding 12 GW of thermal and renewable projects, along with 10+ GWh of energy storage. Bechtel, a recognized leader in engineering, construction, and project management within the energy sector, is responsible for the facility’s construction.
