Went back yesterday to the mouth of the Lewis River on the Columbia where the annual Smelt run attracts scores of #BaldEagles, White Pelicans, and Sea Lions. With a evening visit at #RNWR, took over 1800 images. This juvie was from my last visit.

As expected, this Red Tailed Hawk is perched at the edge of the forest searching the fields for prey, as opposed to the Red Shouldered #Hawk, which would be hunting inside the forest!

On the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge #rnwr autoroute a Short Eared Owl perches on a national wildlife refuge boundary sign at 3:45 in the evening at marker 12.
At least two Short Eared Owls flew up from the reeds yesterday at marker 12 at 3:45 before scared off by the families speeding by to see the pet deer at #RNWR
