Slicks!
Until I picked up my C64 in the mid 90s, this was a game I’d always wanted to try, having been recommended it by a friend and indeed, it’s a pretty decent and fun top-down racer! Maybe, not the ‘best game ever’ like he said though… 😁

In this screenshot our hero is facing a massive multi-headed Hydra, whilst standing on a raised platform near one of it's heads, sword and shield in hand. The platforms and surrounding walls are dark blue, and the hydra is a nice combination of green and cyan
Here we can see from this screenshot that the red hell level is below a Cemetery with green grass and white headstones. Our hero can be seen below this, in hell, on a platform that has a pink cauldron on it. Other platforms have yellow pottery and junk lying around.

Myth - History In The Making was a game that really showed off what the Speccy could do, with huge animated graphics!
This game was great fun to play through, although there were a few moments that annoyed me trying to work out what to do next!

Frightmare is a flip screen platformer, and on this screen we can see a wall on the left with two platforms. Our protagonist has just destroyed a monster on the lower of the 2 platforms, and we can see a floating Medusa head enemy in front of an angel statue on the upper platform. To the right, a green vine stretches from the bottom to the top of the screen and this also has a few platforms, one of which has golden bullets lying on it. Below we can see another enemy that looks like a zombie swamp monster. At the very bottom of the screen we can see the items in use (a crucifix and a gun) and two rings, which show hom many lives remain. At the very top of the screen we can see a rating that the game gives you with the first few letters green, and the rest red. It says 'Cruel Dream' and this rating changes as you fill in the letters. The time of night is also shown here (12.30) and if you take too long to wake up, you'll die when it reaches the time of dawn. There are two exits at the right hand side of the screen which appear as holes in the border, and another at the bottom left below the wall.
