I don't know what it is about photogrammetry that invokes a warm and fuzzy feeling inside me. I guess I just like capturing real things and seeing them in 3d.

photogrammetry attempt 2! had to do a bit of fiddling with control points to combine my two datasets, but i think it turned out pretty well

unlike the garden wall i think i'm gonna keep going, fix the blue underlight, add a roughness map etc. watch this space!

Our photogrammetry course for Blender and RealityScan (back then - Reality Capture) was released a few years ago. We're now proof-watching it and testing its compatibility with Blender 5.x and the newest versions of all software used.

Still working on point-cloud densification to reconstruct #Brest1811. The method works: 7,500 images generated from 18 HD photos. Here’s an explanatory diagram of the workflow. In the next post, I’ll share an example video on the next post.

#RealityScan 2.1 finally fixes the bugs in v2.0.1 that was crashing five times a day and sometimes corrupting files. Updated yesterday and I can finally move forward! I’ve been struggling for six months with my hybrid reconstruction of #Brest1811, trying to work around those bugs.

Took my first crack at photogrammetry today. The object I actually tried to scan (a York ghost) didn't work at all, but the garden wall which I scanned on my way back inside turned out surprisingly well. #3dart #photogrammetry #realityscan

I’ve just built, in one week with AI, a python/ #RealityScan project that would have taken two engineers and an intern about three months five years ago. I had to switch back and forth between two AIs to cross-check their answers, but in the end it worked — and it runs.
