Finally, as always Baldwin can sweep me in passion, romance and the sorrow and fury of tragedy. Highly recommend him. He's tops.
It is odd for me as a gay man to read straight romances written by a gay man. Is this real? It should be.

Thread o' #RecentRead (s).
This was sort of a spy novel about the Forest Gump of the reformation. Interesting enough to keep me reading, can't say i enjoyed it. The role of finance in the reformation was topical. It was penned by a couple authors under the pseudo which yeild short furtive chapters.

An account of a village 30km north of Saigon evacuated and wiped off the map to deny what was apparently a success of rural governance by the North in rural Vietnam. The prose is excellent. The story is not sensational tho the details are lurid.

Con writing about cons. Central character is a yard boss the hacks set about to destroy by housing a pretty boy in his cell.
Many stories of other characters. None of them are good, some are actually bad. Just guys wasting their lives. Great prison novel.

Last of the scifi trilogy in that began with "Semiosis" about sentient plant life understanding humans, how to dominate in a coooerative way. The series didn't hold up with storyline tho the exploration of ideas was solid. I stuck it out because i don't read a lot of scifi.
