Gavin is letting himself be fully vulnerable to Nines for the first time, in contrast to glimpses of vulnerability Gavin has shown to Nines in the past. Nines is in critical condition and may not survive. Gavin places his hand on Nines now visibly robotic hand and emotionally delivers the words, "I need you. I need you to come back to me, Nines." It then cuts to Nines, trapped in his mind, hearing Gavin's words and looking u with an expression of affection and worry.
