Two Shimano rear derailers (RD-M737 and RD-M8130) lie juxtaposed on a workbench. The older mech looks just that: worn, corroded, with parts replaced, and a (some might say) dated anodised purple main pivot bolt. The brand new LinkGlide mech is shiny and untouched.

My first XT mech alongside, possibly, my last.
Will the LinkGlide derailer last 30 years? Will I last 30 years...?
