Imagine thinking the path to fault tolerance is just a larger purchase order from Bluefors.

The O(polylog n) scaling looks great in the preprint until the classical baseline and a 98% gate fidelity show up to ruin your day. Latest QC papers: qubitsok.com/papers

Nothing ruins a perfectly good NISQ paper like a reviewer asking for a side-by-side comparison with a laptop from 2018.

There is a special place in hell for reviewers who ask for more revisions after you've done everything they originally asked of you #Reviewer2 #academia #polisky
I just got minor R&R back for a paper that had major issues and that I spent ALL of the fall revising.
It was honestly the hardest revision I've ever had but also the most fun and intellectually rewarding, and....
I might cry bc the reviewers validated my hard work. #AcademicSky #Reviewer2
According to nLab, Eilenberg & Mac Lane 1945, `General theory of natural equivalences', introducing categories, functors and natural transformations, was at first rejected on the grounds of having "no content"

He who fights with #Reviewer2 should look to it that he himself does not become a #Reviewer2. And if you gaze long into a reviewer’s comments, the reviewer’s comments also gaze into you.

It’s part of our mantra! Nurture. Don’t suffocate an author’s voice. #reviewer2
Wow. It didn't take long for the #Trump effect to infiltrate the #reviewer2 space. I just had a paper rejected for daring to (implicitly) assume in a #SOTL paper that white people aren't intrinsically smarter than black people. 😡
Submitted my R&R. I spent more time addressing reviewer 2. My article argues that public administration is now an admin of the public by the executive. Loyalty checks and exploitation trump service. I was told I was ill informed and that the USG is functioning fine. #reviewer2 #edusky
An image titled "The Peer Review Process." The Left pane shows a smiling man with the caption "First of all, great work." The right pane shows the same man with a skeptical look with a stack of papers labeled "My publications" in front of him and the caption "Second of all...interesting choice not to cite my work."
Don't mind me, I'm just over here trying not to be #Reviewer2

Reviewer 2, the silence is deafening! 🧐 It’s been a month—any chance we’ll see those comments soon? ⏳ #PeerReview #AcademicChatter #Reviewer2
I’ve told the editorial assistant that I will revise, but not before the end of January at the earliest. But that turnaround is badly enough for proofs, let alone adding references to two new articles and/or completely rewriting the second half of the article! #reviewer2
This can feel uncomfortable at first because you want to show everyone that you are to be taken seriously. But I can't say it often enough: Keep your writing simple and clear.

If this was an article submission, #reviewer2 would say “research question is unclear; does not advance knowledge.”

Now that I think of it, @lastpositivist.bsky.social has devised the perfect reply to every #Reviewer2 in the academia.
And they say that there is no progress in #philosophy... 😝
I am #Reviewer2 in a submission I was invited to #review. I will take the chance to stop the myth of the nasty comments of this reviewer. It is a myth, right, #AcademicSky?!
