Suspended Labour councillor Ricky Jones has been found not guilty of encouraging violent disorder after telling an anti-racism rally that far-right activists’ throats should be cut.

Jury deliberated for just over 30 minutes.

#rickyjones was aware of his ADHD & lack of impulse control and presumably also aware that others suffered the same conditions and would therefore be inclined to act on his incitement to slit throats.

What he claimed as a mitigation was, in fact, an aggrevating factor in my view.

Giving evidence in his trial, Mr Jones said his comment did not refer to far-right protesters involved in the riots at the time, but to those who had reportedly left National Front stickers on a train with razor blades hidden behind them. Before he made the comment, jurors were shown video where he said to crowds: "You've got women and children using these trains during the summer holidays. "They don't [care] who they hurt."
