more fires... Don't know which is bringing heavy smoke. A lot of them apparently broke out today called TCU SEPTEMBER LIGHTENING COMPLEX. One is near Elk Grove #RockFire , Coyote Fire (not new), Douglas Flat, Angels Camp, RedHills/Chinese Camp and maybe some unknowns.

I was 24 hours off on predicted timing, but the #RockFire has finally downgraded the SET evacuation status to READY
I don't really consider this fire active at this point; mop-up & rehab will continue as will occasional interior burning
I'll probably give a final look at it tomorrow #IdahoFire

I expect the #RockFire containment % to start creeping up in the next day or so. Entire fire is lined, 90% of it by dozer. And most of that backed by hoselays. Expect heli work, and occasional fixed wing drop but the air show is over unless something bad happens.

As I said in my IdahoFire.org #RockFire email, the firefighters (still) have the upper hand. Most of the current heat is from a burnout. There's dozer line around most of it, working on mop-up. I'd say it's pinned down, but this is Subapline fir, only takes one torch & puff of wind to lose it.

Fairly quiet today on the #RockFire,
SEATs (fireboss scoopers) working a line on the west slope to prevent growth to the north. Helicopters are working four hotspots, two in Tamarack Ski Area (around south of the border) and two on the west slope.

Really like what I'm seeing on the #RockFire this afternoon. I think the danger to residences and tamarack is pretty damn low at this point.

On Thursday, Idaho News 6 neighborhood reporter Brady Caskey was on the scene as "Super Scooper" aircraft pulled water out of Lake Cascade near Donnelly and dropped it on the nearly 2,000-acre Rock Fire.
