Rocket engine explodes during test at Shetland spaceport The test was carried out by a German firm who hope to launch the UK's first vertical rocket into orbit.

When you do tests you expect things to fail, until the test stops failing, then it is working. No doubt there will be a few more cases of the rocket going up like this.
