Dear European Commission, 250+ organisations are saying: Reverse your decision and save cross-border cooperation for non profits
The ECBA Directive would allow non-profit organisations with members across Europe to be recognised and operate in all Member States, while being the first time the sector is recognised in EU legislation. Sounds positive, right?
Despite this, the European Commission has proposed to withdraw this pivotal piece of legislation.
Without this, Europe’s competitiveness is at risk. This Directive could promote the creation of new associations, new jobs and stimulate GDP growth while supporting a sector that provides much needed social services.
That’s why 250+ civil society organisations have signed our open letter calling on the European Commission to reverse this decision.
