I have a soft spot for THE MAN CALLED FLINTSTONE. It’s one of the Hanna-Barbera’s best work and a great animated film, period. It was conceived as a series finale to the original show, with the same tight storylines emotional depth and laughs.

Vincent Price’s arboreal, handsome self makes Russ Quinton’s character MUCH more palatable here. In the book, he was much older, one of Dr. Berent’s professional associates who knew (and was attracted to; blech!) Ellen since she was about 12 or 13. She knew it.

Richard has to admit to himself that he let Ellen’s beauty (and her implicit sexual pull, which is made more overt in the novel) blind him to all of her viciousness. There’s a lot of folks today who still have that problem, regardless of gender. ☕️
