Graphic of the CBC logo exploding, with it's center in the shape of a heart, and a maple leaf in it's center. There's a Canadian flag and Parliament building on the left, and a news van, mic, and red checkmark on the right.
Text from Brandon Blades FB post reads:
"CBC is “fake news,” apparently.
Yes… the entire newsroom. Thousands of staff. Editors. Lawyers. Producers. Standards. Corrections. Ombudsman. All running a secret “Trust Me Bro” fan club. 😭
Meanwhile the same folks yelling “CBC LIES!” are sharing a screenshot of a Facebook comment… from Mario4thedorks and Berta Proud Dud. 2 known propagandists.
Here’s how the “CBC is fake” brain works:
✅ If it confirms my bias: “LOOK AT THE TRUTH!”
❌ If it contradicts my feelings: “FAKE NEWS! GLOBALIST! WOKE! COMMUNIST! TRUDEAU’S PERSONAL JOURNAL!”
Buddy, if you can’t name the story, quote the sentence, or show a correction… you’re not “skeptical.”
You’re just allergic to being wrong.
CBC isn’t perfect, no outlet is.
But calling everything you don’t like “fake news” isn’t critical thinking.
It’s emotional support misinformation.
So yeah, keep screaming “CBC is fake news” while CBC is out here:
publishing sources
issuing corrections
getting complaints investigated
putting their name on it
And you’re out here citing “a guy I follow” as a primary source.
CBC is a licensed broadcaster, and broadcast law literally prohibits false news
Under Canadian broadcast regulations:
Radio licensees “shall not broadcast… any false or misleading news.”
Television licensees “shall not broadcast… any false or misleading news.”
So bring receipts or relax."
I hate misinfo/disinfo.
Brandon Blades says it perfectly, and reminds us under Canadian broadcast regulations:
Radio licensees “shall not broadcast any false or misleading news.”
Television licensees “shall not broadcast any false or misleading news.”
