(3/3) I also hope the educational aims of #SeaWeek incorporate many Indigenous practices, knowledges, and cosmologies. Ocean stewardship cannot be colonialist. Colonialism is antithetical to the well-being of the ocean and every living being in/near it.
(2/3) Perhaps if certain people listened to Indigenous folks/folx in the first place, #SeaWeek wouldn't (in part) be code for: "Colonial capitalism fucked our planet over, so let's salvage what's left, kids!"
