Hello #SaturdaySnippet! I have been away from my girls from a week because of looming deadlines for other things, but here's a scene from my most recent chapter. This has expanded from draft two because thanks to @khonri.com's #Septopolis, I know much more about that other part of the world now.
... a bit more about it, and Orasan (Kraslan’s capital) in particular, during #Septopolis.
The other one is the one I’ve mentioned in the previous days: the Council of Order in Seido, composed of the General of the Paladins of Ortela, the Magister of the Clerics of Aramash, and the Emperor. (2/3)
3/4 So I started throwing in various higher-tech things, like 1984-ish telescreens & sky trams on light rails, inspired by a mix of, idk, Star Wars, Tron, Halo & Portal 2 😅 #Septopolis hosted by @khonri.com last year helped me really flesh out the ideas a lot more.

Because I feel like I have done some of my best recent worldbuilding in response to these prompts, and others like #Septopolis and #MythAugust

I still don't quite know what to do with the setting, as its creation was quite spontaneous due to Khonri's #Septopolis event from last year. It COULD have its own works of written fiction, or something else entirely. Who knows!

As discussed in last year's #Septopolis, Gemorria has one of the healthiest and most stable ecosystems in the world. It is one of the global breadbaskets, and has some of the advanced medicine as well.
Critically because of the Klepp!
I talked about this at some length during the #Septopolis days, but now, I shall expand upon it here;
the Keshtarris were their eastward neighbours, and nothing like the Gemorrians. They were a mercantile federation of extractive barons of absolute wealth AND businessman cunning.

And from this Bloomwood, the Bark-Kin - the cute, worky little Treekin that they are - come to be!
As I've stated during #Septopolis, they primarily function as Gemorria's beloved construction workers. But they also have significant influence in Gemorrian militaries.
Many of you know Gemorria from the #Septopolis days. They are, actually (so far), the closest to our real world. Using steel and other metals ideal for armour-making in a late medieval/renaissance society that also uses gunpowder.
But, there's also Bloomwood.
I talked about this on #Septopolis, because recent Gemorrian history cooled most of their international relations. (mini thread incoming)
Once, they had eastern neighbours called the Keshtarr Federation, which was very different to Gemorria - mercantile, nigh on capitalistic.

Those who have participated at @khonri.com's #Septopolis know of Gemorria very well - a nation of Bloomwood and forested architecture.
But there are other locales in the setting right now. >:)
#Septopolis 18: Most Bir Accians know the central face of the Astrarium to be a countdown to the Convergence, the first time in centuries that the new years of the Nivoréan solar calendar and Biran lunar calendar occur on the same day. In reality, the countdown represents no such thing. (4/6)

The other setting came about completely spontaneously, inspired by my Gemorria contributions to @khonri.com's #Septopolis prompt game (so this is totally her fault you understand). So far, it's a mixture of low and high fantasy settings with a tiny, tiny dash of sci-fi.

Kraslya spams a large territory. Our main city, Orasan, lies in the north and has a subpolar climate. Sports played in all the 🧵

#MelsNoWriMo 29: I did make cover mockups for #TheDragonblood and #ThroughTheCracks. I don't know if they'll be the designs I go with in the end, though. The one for Through the Cracks was my creative project for #Septopolis, which I later thought might work as a cover and stuck a title on.

It's Khonri's birthday, everybody! She has been the wonderful organiser of this year's #Septopolis, and is a fantastic writer and world-builder of her own right! Plus the art she commissioned for her characters is genuinely wonderful, do check the Haus out 💝

Usually time periods are organized by the Head Librarians that started them, including the First Library, Sirius, Vega, and Gale, who I guess I have decided are actually fairly separated by time (ignore #MythAugust and #Septopolis XD)
