I am writing this as someone who loves all things Sims, mods, is fascinated by horror and dark things, etc. I recently learned that Healthcare Redux can run the possibility of giving your sims cancer. I understand that specifically can be manually toggled off, but I still need to say my peace here as a cancer survivor. I survived a LARGE tumor (about 6 inches/15 cm) in the middle of my chest via chemotherapy and radiation. Cancer is so much more complex than just "accept chemo vs no chemo and die". Survivors grief. Medical PTSD associated with the smells and other sensation that goes along with it. Being comatose for 1-5 days after chemotherapy. Being out of breath after a few steps because of how chemotherapy destroys your healthy cells. All the massive amounts of pseudoscience "faux cures" that are all trying to take advantage of vulnerable patients and their families. Survivors guilt knowing many people don't make it Again, I totally get wanting to experiment with medical things but let's be real - asthma, diabetes, etc. is nowhere near the medical severity that is cancer and the inherit sensitivity around cancer.
As someone who loves the sims and generally what @adeepindigo.bsky.social puts out, I couldn't ignore this. #sims4 #sims4cc #sims4mods
