So I’m seeing QPE estimates from
MRMS (radar and in situ passes) putting liquid equivalents around 2.4 to 2.5” at this event.
With 30+” of snow in many areas, I can see this being something like a 15:1 ratio event.

So for those wondering, @noaa.gov and NCEI documents snowstorms using NESIS / RSI. It'll take some time to get official results, but for context, here is the Blizzard of '78
Cat 3, with only 2 Cat 5's (Blizzard of 96, Storm of Century 93)
I suspect this will be cat 4/5

The 32.8" report from TF Green Airport shoots up the 2025-2026 season snowfall from just a tad above normal into a top 10 season.

An abundance of snow is neat in the eastern US (+23 feet above 15-year mean), but the real story is the lack of snow out west (-20 feet). Not good for water resources later this year.

Woke up to a true winter wonderland! I haven't seen this much snow since I was a kid! My dog Stella and her friend Gallagher were really enjoying it. It was so beautiful, such gorgoues perfect fluffy white powder. Sometimes we get to be kids again, today was one of those days.
