On #ThisDayInHistory in 2017, one of the largest #wildfires in #California history broke out in #VenturaCounty. The #ThomasFire quickly spread to neighbouring #SantaBarbara and burned for over a month, ultimately torching 440 square miles. #SouthernCaliforniaEdison was to blame.

SCE’s Commitment to Helping Rebuild Los Angeles For nearly 140 years, Southern California Edison has been part of the communities we serve across Greater Los Angeles.

Souther California Edison took out an ad in the #LATimes to tout how great they are.
The fire is still the fault of #SouthernCaliforniaEdison, and no add or smoke and mirrors are going to change that fact. And you don’t deserve Tax dollars to bail you out.

'This fire could have been prevented': How utilities fought removal of old power lines Regulators wanted Southern California Edison and other utilities to remove abandoned power lines — such as the one suspected of igniting the Eaton fire — but backed down amid utility opposition.

The Power Companies like #SouthernCaliforniaEdison fought to make regulations of unused power lines weaker, 20 years ago. Now their customers and other tax payers are in the hook for SCE stupidity.

Maybe I’m a bit perturbed because #SouthernCaliforniaEdison (#SCE) decided to shut off power to almost all of #Temecula. I can’t open my garage, use my fridge, or make dinner.

Meanwhile, the #Pechanga casino, just over a mile down the road, is lit up like a Christmas tree.
