The nook app is cool and has this feature that looks like youβre turning pages as you swipe. I have a kindle also. I prefer hard copy books but nice to have these options.
App is free and was easy to sync my purchased #ebook. I also use #Boundless, Cloud Library and #Libby, which I use to check out ebooks from my local #library

Hardback book with a dust jacket cover. Across the top runs a tan-colored band with the text "A new collection of three complete Spenser novels." Beneath that the author's name in yellow in a large serif font is superimposed over an illustration that covers the entire cover. The three novel titles, "The Judas Goat," "Looking for Rachel Wallace," and "Early Autumn" are superimposed over the illustration, set in a sand serif condensed font, and running on curves with the beginning of the titles lower than the ends. The illustration is a birdseye's view, with several fall leaves, perhaps maple leaves, falling towards the front of an apartment building, while two males figures with long shadows walk towards each other on the sidewalk and street.

Three Spenser novels, all excellent reads. If you enjoy some social consciousness with your crime noir, Spenser is your man.

It has been such a privilege to watch #Spenser grow up π
A color illustration of the three main characters from 80's TV show Spenser for Hire, Spenser, Susan, and Hawk, in Halloween costumes, all cuddled up together. Spenser, played by actor Robert Urich, is looking at Hawk with affection, one hand on Susan's cheek. He is dressed as Indiana Jones. Susan, as played by Barbara Stock, is touching both Spenser and Hawk's faces, sitting on and between the two of them. Dressed as Ellen Ripley, she looks at Spenser with dreamy fondness. Hawk, as portrayed by Avery Brooks, is dressed as Dr. Frank N. Furter; one hand is in Spenser's hair, and the other is on Susan's stomach. He is giving her a somewhat mischievous look. Behind and in front of them are 80's Halloween decorations, including skulls, a cat on a gravestone, and a ghost coming out of a pumpkin.

Remembering my favorite author, #RobertBParker (Sept 17, 1932βJan 18, 2010) on his birthday.
Best known for his novels w/Boston #privateeye #Spenser, colleague Hawk & longtime love Susan Silverman, Parker also wrote books w/ #JesseStone & #SunnyRandall.

Der 6. Fall fΓΌr Spenser
Book Review: Robert B Parker's Showdown by Mike Lupica @mikelupica.bsky.social (coming Nov 25, 2025, from @putnambooks.bsky.social ). The next novel in the long running Spenser series. mcmaenza.blogspot.com/2025/08/book... #RobertBParker #Showdown #Spenser #NetGalley
#nowwatching #nowstreaming #Netflix #Spenser #SpenserConfidential #action #crime #thriller excellent Mark Wahlberg movie Spenser Confidential now watching from Netflix π€ lot of familiar actors with in too π€
I always have ideas for #Spenser #Movies . Latest one is to adapt a novel from #RobertBParker 's prime, LOOKING FOR RACHEL WALLACE. It's not one of his many poetic titles yet it's distinct and unmistakably identified w/ Parker, and I think it can be brought from 1980 to the present fairly intact.
As always, the Cussler novel was a lot of fun. Now reading Spenser, and I think Ace Atkins did a great job keeping the character alive. #clivecussler #spenser #robertbparker @aceatkins.bsky.social
why doesn't someone re-boot #Spenser? and not like the lame #Spenser take that @amazonprime.bsky.social did π
At some point the window for Spenser Confidential 2 will close and someone else will have a shot at making a #Spenser #TV show or movie. TV based on novel series are 50 times better today than they were in the 1980s. I'm raising my standards accordingly.
For #Shakespeare 's Birthday, inspired titles from #RobertBParker 's #Spenser series:
Walking Shadow 1994
Small Vices '97
Sudden Mischief '98
Hugger Mugger 2000
I esp. like the Sudden Mischief cover showing a jester having plucked a D, I, and E juggling them:

I liked Ace Atkins' #Spenser sequels. He used a style that reminded me of Robert B. Parker's prime, but each book also had a timely plot whereas RBP had written so long he had to muddy period and age and couldn't be as incisive as the real world kept turning.
Here's cause for cheer: It's 2025. That's five years w/o a #Spenser Confidential 2.
Who's w/ me? I would cast #Spenser as a more physically-fit guy than #Reacher. Spenser jogs, boxes, and lifts weights. Reacher doesn't work at it.
That said, I'd also cast Spenser looking like he ate his share of doughnuts and drank his share of beer. It's only right.

When you revive a series, "How is it relevant?" is a fair Q. You have to prove it's relevant. e.g. Ace Atkins had #Spenser confront issues based on recent true crime: for-profit juvenile prisons in ROBERT B. PARKER'S KICKBACK, the NXIVM cult in ROBERT B. PARKER'S ANGEL EYES.
I think Lupica improved w/ his 2nd #Spenser and/or I was more used to how he wrote Spenser, so 5 stars on Amazon.
If I enjoy a book on Amazon, usually 5 stars. A book has to have a really noticeable weakness for me to go to 4 stars.
E.g. In his 1st #Spenser book, I thought Mike Lupica seemed somewhat uncomfortable in Spenser's voice, so I went to 4 stars.
If I don't like a book, I don't post a review.
I would've cast 1980s #BrianDennehy as #Spenser . Top that.
