NOAA NCEI Just announced the US was in the bottom third of precipitation (ranked 40th driest out of 131 years).

WEATHER VS CLIMATE
Climate is what you expect (30-year average for a day), weather is what you get (the actual day).
Here's 2025 daily temperature anomalies for the United States, using NOAA data for 2025 (weather), compared to the 1991-2020 average (climate).

Friendly reminder to stop using arbitrary thresholds to determine extreme heat / cold. Use percentiles instead.
By using a 95F threshold, the usual suspects show up, but when using the 95th percentile, different spots light up.
