On Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the California Central Model Railroad Club (CCMRC) in the historic Agnew depot in Santa Clara, CA, my HO model of Southern Pacific (SP) 2575 crossed the middle trestle over "Mouse Creek." This is a Sunset Models "Prestige Series" factory painted DC Brass 2-8-0. The real SP 2575 was a Baldwin built SP Class C9 Consolidation. Reportedly: it was built in 1905, builders number 25493. It was scrapped in 1953.
On Feb 21, 2026, at the model railroad club in the Agnew depot in Santa Clara, CA, my HO model of SP steam 2575.

SP MT-1 4314 in Sacramento, CA The notes with the collection say: on Saturday, October 14, 1939, Southern Pacific (SP) 4314 was in Sacramento, CA. SP 4314 was an ALCo 4-8-2, SP Class MT-1. Reportedly: it was built by ALCo in 1924, builders number 65384. It was vacated and scrapped in 1953. Photographer most likely Bill Darrough, from the Darrough Collection. Since negatives were extensively traded it's possible Bill was not the photographer. Photos from this collection have been shared with permission from Jack Darrough, obtained before he died. Please do not edit, crop, "correct" or "improve" these photos without asking me first.

SP 4314 was an ALCo 4-8-2, SP Class MT-1.

Reportedly: SP 4203 was built in 1911 by Baldwin as a Mallet Mogul (MM), SP 4203, SP Class MM-2. This locomotive was upgraded in 1936 and converted to simple emerging as an Articulated Mogul (AM) SP 4203, SP Class AM-2. In 1938 the locomotive was renumbered to SP 3903. The disposition of this locomotive is, vacated and scrapped in 1946 Please do not edit, crop, "correct" or "improve" these photos without asking me first.

Southern Pacific (SP) AC-8 4197 in helper service. Notice the WW2 era light deflectors. No notes on this one. Location not currently known, perhaps Santa Margarita? This is WW2 era, sometime in 1942. Photographer most likely Bill Darrough, from the Jack Darrough Collection. Since Bill Darrough died of cancer in 1942 this may be among his last train photos. Used with permission. Reportedly: SP 4197 was built in 1939 by Baldwin as a model AC-8, builders number 62285. The disposition of this locomotive is, vacated in 1954 and scrapped in 1955.
