I was feeling overwhelmed by the erosion of democracy and human dignity in our country. Tears came. I thought of my dad and how horrified he’d be at the unraveling we’re living through. I said aloud, “I miss you, Daddy,” closed my eyes, and felt my grief turn into a warm hug. I settled.
