The Aswang An Aswang is a feared, shape-shifting monster in Philippine folklore. It combines the traits of a vampire, ghoul, witch, and were-beast. It is an "umbrella term." It describes a variety of malevolent beings living as ordinary humans by day. They transform into predatory creatures at night. The Aswang are known for an unholy preference for the hearts and livers of children, as well as the blood and organs of unborn fetuses, which they sometimes extract from a mother's womb using a long, thread-like tongue. They can transform into various animals, most commonly large black dogs, pigs, cats, or birds.

At the time, the news media suggested they may have been a wild ape. Alternatively, they considered the possibility of an escaped kangaroo. Exploring Tranquille Sanatorium: History and Hauntings Location: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada Credit: Wikipedia Tranquille Sanatorium is located in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, and was built in 1907 to treat tuberculosis, otherwise known as ‘The White Plague.’ The grounds that the hospital was built upon were previously used for ranching before the British Columbian government purchased the land for the construction of the sanatorium. Originally, the facility was named the King Edward VII Sanatorium and served tuberculosis patients specifically during the peak of the epidemic. The British Columbia Society for the Prevention and Treatment of Consumption and Other Forms of Tuberculosis held its very first meeting in January of 1904 to begin the plans and fundraising necessary to build an isolated tuberculosis sanatorium.

Hamilton’s Dark History – Lover’s Leap Albion Falls is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Hamilton and for good reason. This magnificent waterfall is a very popular spot, even though many don’t know there is a darker history to it. From the top of the falls, you’ll see a trail which leads off to the right. If you follow it and you will see a piece of the Niagara Escarpment which juts out. This is known as "Lover’s Leap". The history of Lover's Leap goes all the way back to the 1800s for this tragic tale.

The Legend of Igopogo: Lake Simcoe’s Mysterious Monster Igopogo is a lake monster rumored to dwell in Lake Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. It is also known as Kempenfelt Kelly, Beaverton Bessie, and Simcoe Kelly. It was named in imitation of the Ogopogo and also inspired by the 1952 comic book I Go Pogo. Igopogo is described as a gray seal-like animal with a dog- or horse-like head. Its neck is long and like a stovepipe. It is 12-70 feet long with prominent eyes and a gaping mouth. It has several dorsal fins and a fish-like tail. Igopogo has been observed basking in the sun by eye-witnesses.
