A Victorian four-panelled door opens on to a small, narrow study belonging to the architect George Saumarez Smith. A four-paned window at the far end looks out on to sunlit greenery. An antique bureau desk antique wooden chair are side-on to the window. The walls are painted in what looks like black but I think is actually very dark blue (I'd prefer very, very dark grey, like Lego Batman). A charcoal grey (or possibly very dark blue) Anglepoise lamp is on the desk. There is a large plant in the corner and more plants, and a china bowl, on the windowsill. There are a couple of architectural drawings in gold frames. In the near ground there is an antique marble-topped architect's chest of drawers with books neatly stacked on top. There are wooden floorboards with a stripy rug. OK, I saw this in House and Garden but I still want it. The photographer was Owen Gale. https://www.houseandgarden.co.uk/article/sophie-dahl-on-the-importance-of-a-room-of-ones-own
I have seen this study on Facebook and I have never wanted anything more #StudyGoals
