Munja & Kutsa were created 4 years ago, & I’ve often wondered what they’d look like if they were created 100 years earlier… and in other decades past?
Starting today with the 1920s,
then moving onto to the 30s 40s 60s & 90s over the next 4 days.

The text reads "Day 18: A different Style" and features the main quartet of Un-Phased. From left to right, Zak (he/him) Rowan (he/him) Val (he/him) who is holding the crow, Pip (she/her) and Aradite (she/her) They are much more shapey to match the Adventure Time style, their colors are more saturated and vibrant, and their outfits and weapons are redesigned to fit the simplicity of the show.
The same image as on the left, but the characters are separated to better show all the details.

Munja as a realistic Citarrisu with detailed shading and colouring without any cartoon simplification. All four tail stripes are there instead of two, the light blue on his belly continues to under his tail, eyes are turquoise instead of white and there are many more blue whiskers on his cheeks. The creature is based on animals such as rabbits and squirrels, as well as being loosely inspired by a realistic Pikachu I drew a few years ago.
Munja in the Disney art style - another personal favourite and really brings out his cute side though it’s still clear he’s a little rascal. This design is based on characters like Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh, Thumper from Bambi as well as Chip ‘n Dale and the squirrels from various movies.
Munja in the Hanna-Barbera style. With a much more rigid pose and lines to work with, it was a challenge to balance that with the fluid base pose. I even gave him a bowtie like many other HB characters have and is the same colour as the realistic version’s eyes. I based this design on characters like Magic Rabbit, Huckleberry Hound, Secret Squirrel and a few others whose names I forgot.
Munja in the Pokémon style. With a lot of simple shapes and soft lines, this was a fun and satisfying one to work on. I based this design on species like Pachirisu, Bunnelby, Scorbunny and Pikachu.

Each one is based on the same pose with the character standing, arms spread, head turned with an excited expression.

Munja in his original style that I have developed over the past few years - a perfect mix of soft lines in the face, hands and feet and hard edges, especially in his long, fluffy tail and has simple shading and rendering.
Munja in the Looney Tunes style, one of my personal favourites to work on as the exaggerated features, flowy ears, crossed eyes and overall expression really brings out his wacky, goofy side. This design is based on several characters such as Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote and Skippy Squirrel
