4/9 K2-18b, discovered in 2017, is a "sub-Neptune" - larger than Earth's rocky planets but smaller than our solar system's gas giants. In 2021, Madhusudhan proposed such planets might be "Hycean" worlds with warm water oceans and hydrogen-rich atmospheres.
