Morning of day 3! I managed 5 hours sleep (2 hours then 3) but still feel like my brain is in a blender. Storm wouldn't eat or drink anything most of yesterday, and I couldn't give her pills until she did, so I threw a giant frozen turkey breast in the instant pot, completely unseasoned. Watered down the broth it made and she drank that just fine. And she devoured the meat. Then she drank regular water for like 5 minutes straight last night. Also took off the fentanyl patch. She's feeling much better this morning.

He's been the BEST PATIENT EVER. idk if it's because he's on the older side of 9 years old, but he's been a trooper about ice packs, short potty walks, using the sling, etc. He's already putting some weight on his leg and is more alert now, post op Day 2. Best Boy Evar 🥹

The human called to check on me! The nurses told her I’m feeling much more comfortable now, and appreciated the extra pain meds. I didn’t want to eat anything until they offered me chicken 🐓 (and I really liked the chicken). Looking optimistic for me to go home tomorrow 🤞

The #TPLO surgery went great! Today we see the vet for his 2 week check, and if the stitches are healed enough we can ditch the cone. Everyone is loving the air mattress in the living room as you can tell 😂

We did dirty laundry treat searches. Piles of dirty laundry surrounds the pup with treats hidden under or rolled up in.
My pup's surgery is in exactly a week and not gonna lie, I'm freaking the fuck out... I want to set up his bedroom space, but I've deemed it too early. I want to do it the day of so that he has a clean, fresh space. I've been randomly bursting into tears and then stress eating. #tplo #tplosurgery

If I’d just unreal what you have been through with #TPLO surgery. When it happens to our pup we are all so anxious to get the surgery down and have things return to normal. Your experience and even my positive experience but cancer two year later make me question all of it.

Oh no. I am so very sorry. #TPLO recovery is the hardest thing I have ever done, and to not get the results you need is so unfair. I don’t have any answers but I know you must just be mentally exhausted because it is such a hard recovery and we just want to see our pups pain free. Thinking of you.

Day three: bearing weight on the leg. Got him to come upstairs yesterday, but today he's in the entranceway again (which is fine).

Just heard from the surgeon - “All done and resting comfortably, definitely a partial tear but meniscus looked solid. He said the dogs that have partial rather than complete tears heal better.”
