USA TODAY Co. Announces Execution of Binding Letter of Intent With MediaNews Group USA TODAY Co. (NYSE:TDAY) executed a binding Letter of Intent to acquire The Detroit News, adding the award-winning paper to its USA TODAY Network of more than 200 local publications. Financing is provided partially from cash and partially via incremental debt from funds managed by affiliates of Apollo (NYSE:APO). As amended, USA TODAY Co.'s senior secured credit facility will bear interest at SOFR + 4.5% with a 150 bp floor, and management cites a 50-basis point reduction in its interest rate. The company expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings and cash flow. Closing is subject to customary conditions and is anticipated to occur at the end of the month; deal terms will not be disclosed.
