March 11, 1861: Confederate Constitution Adopted The Constitution of the Confederate States of America was adopted a month before the Civil War started.

The Confederate Constitution, adopted #tdih 1861, protected slavery, stating “No law denying or impairing the right of property in negro slaves shall be passed.”

Yet people still claim the Civil War wasn’t about slavery.

Many legislatures & the president have tried to criminalize teaching honestly. They ban "divisive concepts," including that U.S. is "fundamentally or systematically racist."

Under those EO's & laws, can teachers invite students to read & analyze Dred Scott ruling by U.S. Supreme Court? #TeachTruth
