At 7:41 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, then new BNSF 6581, 6583, 5136, 4009, 5604 and 5035 led a southbound manifest out of Caliente, CA. They were approaching Tunnel 1 in the Tehachapi mountains. BNSF 6581 is a GE ES44C4. Reportedly: it was built in 2013, serial number 61494.
