Back at #teletext50 I spoke with #teletext legends Mort Smith and Ian irving about the Ceefax office in TV Centre – there were tantalising glimpses of it in the documentary 'This is Ceefax.' Here's a 'sunset at Ceefax' with some details from the gents.

Just learned why my new mics were so quiet last year at #Teletext50...
The loudest background noise was still air con, but I also had hiss from cranking the channel gain and volume up full.
Turns out - despite the 1/4" jack - they're mic level, not line level.
Even says it clearly in the manual 🤣

It really was. And it really is.
Recently attended #Teletext50 and it was wonderful to be part of. Still got loads of footage to get through and edit, which'll make its way to YouTube at some point.
This community covers all bases, from recovering old pages from VHS, to creating new ones in 2024!
If it's any consolation, with the exception of #Teletext50 (where I was only briefly on mic/camera myself), I haven't streamed since last November.
I miss it, too. My mojo for it comes back in bits and pieces, but never all at once, all in one place, and/or enough to actually get going again 😢
